What we do

Fair Notice offers free, plain-English calculators that estimate severance in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta. It also aims to list employment lawyers in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta who act for dismissed employees; a firm appears in the directory only once its listing has passed our checks. Listings contain publicly available firm facts — name, contact details, practice areas, and which cities a firm serves — taken from the firm's own website. See how we list firms for the method.

What we don't do

• Fair Notice is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
• Fair Notice is not a lawyer referral service. We don't match you with a lawyer, and no firm pays us for an introduction.
• We don't rate, rank, or endorse any firm. Listings are alphabetical, not ordered by quality.
• The calculator's estimate is not a prediction of what you would actually receive — see the legal disclaimer.

How this site is funded

Fair Notice is currently funded entirely by its operator. We do not charge firms to be listed, and we do not charge for placement or position in the directory. That is true as of this page's last update, and we will revise this page the day it stops being true.

AI-use disclosure

Directory listings are researched by one AI agent and independently re-checked by a second AI agent, and are approved under a delegated AI process. No human reviews each listing before it is published. A listing can contain mistakes. If you see one, please email info@fairnotice.ca.
